After getting out of class Thursday evening, I committed to my somewhat spur of the moment trip and packed the car for a three day trip to Tucson for the gem and mineral shows! I woke up super early on Friday, drove all day, arrived in Tucson that evening, got a cheap and old motel room (cheap and old = lots of cool character + a little sketchiness), shopped all day Saturday, hit the road back home Saturday evening sleeping at rest stops as I went and arrived home Sunday evening. It was intense! I managed to find nearly everything on my shopping list and have a ton of new materials to work with! I think I might be most excited about a piece of Sumatra amber that I picked up, which is by far the bluest amber I have ever seen! The meteorite slices are pretty darn cool too tho. Impossible to see everything in it's true glory with the sun hitting all the iridescents right, but this is the bulk of my finds!
